Vahagn Khachaturyan met with Andrey Kovachev, the permanent rapporteur on RA affairs in the Council of Europe

The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan, met with the permanent rapporteur on Armenian issues in the European Parliament, Andrei Kovachev, at the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia within the framework of his working visit to Brussels.

During the meeting, the current security challenges in the South Caucasus region, particularly the situation in Nagorno Karabakh, and general developments were discussed. In this regard, Vahagn Khachaturyan drew Andrey Kovachev's attention to the necessity of protecting the fundamental rights of more than one hundred thousand forcibly displaced people from Nagorno Karabakh and solving humanitarian problems.

During the conversation, President Vahagn Khachaturyan emphasized that Armenia's unequivocal position is to achieve stable and lasting peace in the region and establish neighborly relations with its neighbors, which is in the interests of all region countries.

The current state and possible threats to the Armenian cultural heritage of Nagorno-Karabakh and the need for its protection were also discussed at the meeting.
