Tigran Khachatryan received the CE Human Rights Commissioner

On October 18, RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan received the delegation from CE Human Rights Commissioner Dunja Mijatović.

Expressing his gratitude for his visit to Armenia, the Deputy Prime Minister presented the situation created as a result of the forced displacement of the population of Nagorno-Karabakh, referring in detail to the basic needs of the displaced population and the work being done to address them.

In particular, Tigran Khachatryan presented the steps taken by the RA government to provide accommodation and other primary needs to our compatriots who were forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as outlined the mid-term and long-term measures to ensure stable living conditions for them.

The Deputy Prime Minister also addressed the socio-psychological and other needs of the most vulnerable groups, including children, women, and older people.

For his part, the human rights commissioner of the Council of Europe thanked Tigran Khachatryan for the opportunity to have a detailed discussion on the current situation.

The interlocutors also touched on various issues related to protecting the rights of people forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.
