"On May 12, 2021, Azerbaijani troops violated the border of Armenia, invading the country's territory up to 4 km in the 100 km section of the borderline. In this situation, the CSTO considered the security system of Armenia, and the countries with security obligations towards Armenia at the bilateral level did not help us at all; they left us alone." Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced at the PACE session.
He said that the purpose of that provocation, which took place before the extraordinary parliamentary elections, was to fail the elections and paralyze the state or at least to form a temporary government.
He noted that in those conditions, such elections were held in Armenia, recognized as democratic, transparent, and competitive.
According to Pashinyan, after the 2018 revolution, the results of elections at any level in Armenia have not been manipulated.
