"I consider supporting peacebuilding my main political commitment." Prime Minister

"I came to the CE with the following main message: Our region, the South Caucasus, needs peace—that is, a situation where all the region's countries live with open borders". Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this in his speech at PACE.

He emphasized that the notions of peace are not opposed to the region's interests. "Our country can be peaceful if the region is peaceful, and I consider supporting the construction of peace as my main political commitment," said Nikol Pashinyan, adding that this commitment is not easy, considering the long-term conflict with Azerbaijan, many victims, missing persons—the circumstances of the lost, captives.

According to Pashinyan, there was an opportunity to make a breakthrough in the peace process in Granada on October 5, but Aliyev refused to come to that conference. "The president of Azerbaijan does not mention the recognition of RA - 29,800 km2. This causes fear and reason among some analysts that he leaves extraordinary ambiguities for making territorial claims against Armenia."
