The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan, had a farewell meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Argentina to Armenia, Mariano Vergara. Welcoming the ambassador, the president thanked him for his work during the diplomatic mission and for strengthening Armenian-Argentine relations.
"I do not doubt that the Armenian-Argentine relations have a great potential for development, and since 1992, they have had a continuous rise. During the past three years, we have felt your compassion for the events in Armenia during these difficult times. Be aware that in this situation, with the support of our friends and partners, we can make decisions to ensure the country's stability and development," the president noted.
Thanking the ambassador for the reception, he noted. "After working in Armenia for almost three years, I am returning to Argentina, leaving many friends here, and I assure you that you, like me, have a new friend in Argentina."
The meeting discussed issues of further developing close relations between Armenia and Argentina. The ongoing development of high-level political dialogue and parliamentary diplomacy between the two countries was highlighted.
During the conversation, reference was made to protecting the rights of Armenians displaced from Nagorno Karabakh and the work being done to solve humanitarian problems.
