Mirzoyan stressed the need to restrain ambitions for the territorial integrity of RA
On October 10, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan spoke with James Cleverley, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Development of the United Kingdom.
During the phone call, the heads of the two countries' foreign ministries discussed the current security situation in the South Caucasus.
Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized that RA repeatedly, including during the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor, which lasted for more than 9 months, warned about the open intention of Azerbaijan to subject Nagorno Karabakh to ethnic cleansing, adding that the international community was unable to prevent the implementation of this intention with practical steps. :
Reference was also made to the situation created by the forced displacement of more than 100,000 people of Nagorno-Karabakh, the humanitarian problems that require an urgent solution, and the interaction with international partners.
Regarding the region's general security situation, Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the need to curb ambitions for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia. In this regard, the partners' support of the statement's main messages adopted due to the quadrilateral meeting held in Granada on October 5 was highlighted.
The interlocutors also exchanged ideas on the possibilities of expanding the RA-UK bilateral agenda.
