RA Foreign Minister and EU Commissioner discussed the security situation in the region
On October 6, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, received EU Commissioner for Crisis Management Janez Lenarchic.
Ararat Mirzoyan presented the situation created as a result of the months-long blockade of the Lachin Corridor and the military attack by Azerbaijan against the civilian population of Nagorno Karabakh on September 19.
Emphasizing that what happened in Nagorno-Karabakh was actual ethnic cleansing and the danger RA had been warning of for months, Minister Mirzoyan stressed the need to rule out the continuing threat of using force in the region.
Reference was made to properly supporting forcibly displaced people from Nagorno Karabakh and working with international partners.
The RA Foreign Minister and the EU Commissioner exchanged ideas on the region's security situation and issues of the RA-EU partnership agenda.
