President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received Victor Richter, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany, to Armenia on the occasion of Unity Day, the national holiday of Germany.
The President congratulated the guest and conveyed his best wishes to Germany's friendly people and leadership. He emphasized that social relations between Germany and Armenia have developed dynamically over the past 30 years.
"We felt the support of Germany right after independence, and today we have friendly relations. I am sure our cooperation will continue growing closer and include new fields," said President Khachaturyan.
The ambassador thanked for the reception and good wishes and emphasized that Germany is committed to supporting democratic reforms in Armenia and establishing peace.
During the meeting, a wide range of areas of development for the Armenian-German partnership were discussed. Reference was made to the future opportunities and prospects of the high-level political dialogue between the two countries.
During the conversation, ideas were exchanged regarding protecting the rights of forcibly displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh and humanitarian assistance issues. Both sides emphasized the importance of establishing stable peace in the region. In this context, the President of the Republic emphasized Armenia's determination to promote the regional peace agenda.
Ambassador Richter emphasized Germany's willingness to support the implementation of democratic reforms in Armenia and the process of achieving final peace in the South Caucasus region as much as possible.
