Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the delegation led by Haris Georgiades, the chairman of the inter-parliamentary committee on Cyprus-Armenia cooperation of the House of Representatives of Cyprus.
The Prime Minister welcomed the visit of the Cypriot parliament delegation to Armenia and highly appreciated the level of inter-parliamentary cooperation and political dialogue between the two countries. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the resolution adopted by the House of Representatives of Cyprus regarding the illegal blocking of the Lachine Corridor and thanked for the precise assessments. The Prime Minister also emphasized the implementation of steps towards expanding economic cooperation between Armenia and Cyprus, noting that there is also great potential for cooperation in that field.
Haris Georgiades condemned the implementation of the policy of ethnic cleansing by Azerbaijan against the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh and emphasized the humanitarian support of the international community to the forcibly displaced population of Nagorno-Karabakh. The chairman of the Cyprus-Armenia inter-parliamentary commission emphasized Cyprus's support for protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Armenia.
During the meeting, issues related to the processes taking place in the region were discussed.
