"France is the true ally of the Armenian people and Armenia". Alain Simonyan to the Speaker of the National Assembly of France

On September 28, RA NA Speaker Alen Simonyan met Yael Brown-Pieve, Speaker of the French National Assembly, in Dublin. Expressing his gratitude for the initiative of the meeting, the Speaker of the RA National Assembly noted that the most pessimistic forecasts regarding the policy and aggression implemented by Azerbaijan have come true.

The parties discussed the problems caused by the depatriation of Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians. Thoughts were exchanged about the necessity of applying international sanctions against Azerbaijan. Alain Simonyan emphasized that France is the true ally of the Armenian people and Armenia and expressed his belief in the continuation of France's efforts to ensure Armenia's security.

He noted that he expects the French National Assembly and the Senate to express their attitude regarding the tragic events that have taken place and are ongoing. The French partner expressed his support and assistance to the people of Nagorno-Karabakh and noted that he will make every effort to stabilize the situation. The parties referred to the worries prevailing in the region, of which Armenia is also the direct bearer.

Thoughts were exchanged on the necessity of condemnation of Azerbaijani policy by the international community. At the end of the meeting, the Speaker of the RA National Assembly thanked the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France Catherine Colonna for the announcement to open a consulate in Syunik made in the French Parliament.
