The Minister of Internal Affairs received the newly appointed head of the EU delegation

On September 18, RA Minister of Internal Affairs Vahe Ghazaryan received the Head of the European Union Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Vassilis Maragos.

Welcoming the ambassador, Vahe Ghazaryan, congratulated him on his appointment and wished him success. Presenting the ongoing reforms in the services under the formation of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the minister emphasized the support of international partners in this direction, highlighted the importance of the program "Support to the reforms of the law enforcement agencies and security sector of the Republic of Armenia" implemented by the Republics of Lithuania and Latvia within the framework of the European Union's Comprehensive and Extended Partnership Agreement, which has already, and it started.

Expressing his gratitude for the kind words, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Vassilis Maragos highlighted the ongoing reforms and expressed his willingness to continue cooperation. Noting a number of directions of cooperation, he singled out the fields of migration and citizenship, patrol service, civil protection.

The minister unconditionally confirmed the willingness to successfully complete the most important reforms.

Also discussed were the improvement of the quality of the services provided to the citizens, interaction with the political society, the formation of the patrol service, the involvement of women, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
