Lithuanian Ambassador Alen Simonyan suggested an inter-parliamentary discussion
National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan received Andrius Pulokas, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania, to Armenia. Congratulating the ambassador on the assumption of powers, Alen Simonyan emphasized the role of Lithuania as an essential partner of Europe.
At the meeting, agenda issues related to Nagorno Karabakh Armenians were discussed, condemning the consistent policy of ethnic cleansing of Azerbaijanis. The ambassador's proposal to hold an inter-parliamentary discussion through a video call was approved in this context.
The Speaker of the RA National Assembly stressed that it is time to take concrete steps, emphasizing the need to apply sanctions against Azerbaijan and reminding us that the statements of international authoritative structures, calls to respect human rights, and universal values remain unanswered. He also added that the Republic of Armenia is committed to the agenda of democracy, expecting the active support of the international community in this matter as well.
