The ambassador emphasized the precise position of the Iranian side in protecting the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Armenia, Mehdi Sobhani.

The Prime Minister congratulated the ambassador on being appointed to a new position and expressed hope that Armenia-Iran relations will continue to develop and strengthen during his term of office. Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that the two countries should maintain active communication during the problematic period created in the region. The Prime Minister noted a reliable dialogue with the President of the Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, contributing to the consistent deepening of the Armenian-Iranian interaction.

Mehdi Sobhani thanked for the warm reception and emphasized the Iranian government's interest in developing relations with Armenia in all fields. The ambassador once again highlighted the precise position of the Iranian side regarding protecting Armenia's territorial integrity. Mr. Sobhani expressed his concerns regarding the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and emphasized the importance of protecting the security and rights of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh.

The interlocutors touched upon several issues on the agenda of Armenian-Iranian relations. In particular, topics related to implementing joint programs in the economy, trade and economic relations, infrastructure development, healthcare, education, science, culture, and other directions were discussed.
