The head of the parliament welcomed the draft of the bipartisan legislative act "Supporting Armenians Against Azerbaijani Aggression" presented to the Senate on September 21 by the chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Gerry Peters, and several other senators, Robert Menendez, expressing hope that it will be adopted.
Referring to the urgent session of the UN Security Council held in New York on September 21, the Speaker of the RA National Assembly thanked the USA for its supportive speech, stressing that in the current situation, the urgency of practical and transparent steps by international partners is critical, including the imposition of sanctions on Azerbaijan.
The details and consequences of another large-scale attack unleashed by Azerbaijan on September 19 were discussed at the meeting. The senator provided information from his visit to the Vayots, Dzor, and Syunik regions.
He condemned the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, expressing support for the Armenian people. Gerry Peters reaffirmed the United States' support for Armenia's territorial integrity.
