USAID Director Samantha Power arrived in Armenia today to confirm US support for Armenia's sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, and democracy and to take steps to meet humanitarian needs arising from the recent violence in Nagorno-Karabakh.
USAID Director Power is accompanied by Yuri Kim, Deputy Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs. The United States continues to support Armenia's efforts to establish dignified and lasting peace in the region.
The United States is deeply concerned by reports of the humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and calls for unhindered access to international humanitarian organizations and commercial transportation.
