RA Deputy Foreign Minister presented the situation in Artsakh to the UN representative

On September 22, within the framework of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, RA Deputy Foreign Minister Vahe Gevorgyan had a meeting with Special Adviser of the UN Secretary-General on Genocide Prevention, Deputy General Secretary Alice Wairimu Nderitu.

Presenting the situation created as a result of the aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan on September 19, Vahe Gevorgyan noted that the Azerbaijani attack, accompanied by the deliberate targeting of the civilian population and infrastructure, as well as the illegal blocking of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan during the previous 10 months, are clear evidence of the ethnic cleansing of the people of Nagorno Karabakh by Azerbaijan—the clear intention to complete.

In this context, the practical work of the relevant mechanisms of the UN for the prevention of genocide aimed at preventing mass crimes in Nagorno-Karabakh was highlighted.
