Mirzoyan emphasized the necessity of an adequate response from the EU and its member states to prevent mass crimes in Nagorno-Karabakh.
On September 19, within the framework of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Antonio Tajani.
RA Foreign Minister presented to his Italian counterpart the situation created due to another large-scale aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against the people of Nagorno Karabakh on the morning of September 19, emphasizing that Azerbaijan continues its aggressive and ethnic cleansing policy. Ararat Mirzoyan noted that the civilian population and infrastructures are also targeted by the Azerbaijani armed forces, resulting in victims and wounded among civilians, including women and children.
Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the need for an adequate response and clear steps by the international community, particularly the European Union and its member states, to prevent mass crimes in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The meeting also touched upon the bilateral agenda between Armenia and Italy.
