Ararat Mirzoyan met the Foreign Minister of Iran and presented the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh

On September 19, within the framework of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir Abdollahian.

Ararat Mirzoyan stressed that the large-scale aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against the people of Nagorno-Karabakh puts stability in the entire South Caucasus under attack. Presenting the details of Azerbaijan's actions, the RA Foreign Minister emphasized that all international partners who are interested in stability in the region must condemn aggression, any attempt to solve problems through the use of force and the threat of power, and return Azerbaijan to a constructive field.

RA Foreign Minister emphasized that Azerbaijan's actions once again show the need to prevent the ethnic cleansing of the people of Nagorno Karabakh and to create mechanisms to ensure the rights and security of the people of Nagorno Karabakh in the context of long-term peace in the region.

Issues related to bilateral relations were also discussed at the meeting. Both sides reaffirmed the agreement to continue discussions on different platforms and formats.
