The importance of addressing the rights of the NK people was emphasized

On September 18, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna in New York. The meeting occurred within the framework of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.

The interlocutors noted with satisfaction the active political dialogue formed through the 31-year cooperation in establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries. They expressed their readiness to expand the bilateral agenda in new directions. Both sides emphasized the active implementation of the RA-EU partnership agenda and the activities of the EU civil mission in Armenia, where Estonia has direct participation.

As a continuation of the telephone conversation between the two ministers in August, regional stability and security issues were discussed. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that the blockade of the Lachin Corridor violates not only the statement signed by the President of Azerbaijan on November 9, 2020 but also international humanitarian and human rights norms and two decisions of the International Court of Justice.

The importance of addressing the rights and security issues of the Nagorno-Karabakh people in the context of the effectiveness of the general peace process was highlighted.
