CEC Secretary Armen Smbatyan stated that non-citizens of the Republic of Armenia also have the right to vote during the elections of local self-governing bodies if they have been registered in the given community for the last 1 year.
According to him, those who are not RA citizens but have been registered for the last year have the right to vote; for them, the residence card issued by the RA is considered an identity document.
Smbatyan emphasized that the fact of registration is also necessary for RA citizens. "Citizens of the Republic of Armenia in the given community must be registered in the last six months to be included in the voter list and be able to vote."
