The US Embassy in Armenia welcomes Major General Gregory Anderson, Commander of the 10th Mountain Division, and Brigadier General Patrick Ellis, Deputy Chief of Staff, US Army Europe and Africa.
Major General Anderson, Brigadier General Ellis, and Ambassador Quinn observed the progress of the "Eagle Partner" military exercise at the "Dice" training center.
"Eagle Partner" is an exercise for peacekeepers that is taking place in Armenia in 2018. from September 11 to 20. About 85 American and 175 Armenian servicemen are participating in the activity.
"The "Eagle Partner" exercise is a testimony of our long-term cooperation with Armenia, the basis of which is cooperation in the security and peacekeeping fields, which was especially demonstrated through the strong relations formed by Armenia with the Kansas National Guard within the framework of the State Partnership Program of the US Department of Defense (Ministry)," noted ambassador Kvien.
"We have multilateral cooperation ties with Armenia. The United States has provided consistent support to the Armed Forces of Armenia, especially in the field of capacity building in such important directions as non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and peacekeeping activities," said Major General Anderson.
The exercise also aims to increase the readiness of Armenia's 12th Peacekeeping Brigade for the planned assessment of the NATO/GCC "Operational Capability Concept" scheduled for later this year.
