"Yes, the Russian peacekeepers have failed in this situation." Nikol Pashinyan

In an interview with the "Politico Europe" periodical, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, responding to the atmosphere prevailing in the negotiation room for the settlement of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, stated that he does not want to discuss this issue publicly.

"For now, we do not have an atmosphere of trust because if there were, many issues would not be in the state they are today. My response is to continue to work consistently and find solutions and ways to progress. The main problem is that Azerbaijan continues to apply the policy of the threat of force, as it did before. It is the main obstacle to ensuring progress," the Prime Minister said.

When asked whether Russia has failed as a security guarantor, Nikol Pashinyan answered that in 2020, After November 9, acute security situations took place in Nagorno-Karabakh: violations of the contact line invasions.

"There was an incident when an Azerbaijani sniper killed a citizen carrying out agricultural work in the presence of a Russian peacekeeper. Finally, the closure of the Lachine Corridor and the emergence of a humanitarian crisis. In this sense, as far as these problems have arisen, the Russian peacekeepers have failed in their mission. But, on the other hand, I cannot say that if they were not in NK, the situation would be better under those conditions. I think both reports are correct," the Prime Minister noted.
