"Severe events took place during the negotiation process." prime minister

Azerbaijan has started the accumulation of troops along the border with Armenia. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this in an interview with "Politico Europe" magazine.

"The Republic of Armenia should also take certain measures for defense purposes, but I think the EU civilian mission in the Republic of Armenia can record that the Republic of Armenia has no intention of escalation, and Azerbaijan has started the withdrawal of its central troops to the border of the Republic of Armenia and along the line of contact in Nagorno-Karabakh," Pashinyan noted.

According to him, it is impossible to exclude an escalation scenario in such a situation.

"Severe events took place during the negotiation process. If we try to record the peak of the seriousness of these events, it is the agreements reached by Azerbaijan and Armenia that our countries mutually recognize each other's territorial integrity," the Prime Minister said.

Pashinyan said that this agreement can be considered a cornerstone of peace. Still, the problem is that Armenia has publicly reaffirmed and is reaffirming loyalty to that agreement, and Azerbaijan's position in this regard needs to be clarified.
