Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated in an interview with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica that the security architecture of Armenia was connected with the Russian Federation. Still, today, the Russian Federation needs weapons and ammunition. In this situation, even if it wanted to, it cannot provide for the security needs of the Republic of Armenia.
"In other words, depending on only one place in the security sector is a strategic mistake. Now we are making vague attempts to diversify our security policy," said the Prime Minister.
According to him, today, the Lachin corridor should be controlled by the Russian peacekeeping troops. "Why not? There are two reasons. Either the Russian Federation is unable to maintain control, or it does not want to. I think that in some places they don't want to, and in some places they can't."
