RA needs to have the authority to discuss issues related to other ways of transporting goods to Nagorno-Karabakh. RA MFA

We want to emphasize that during the tripartite meeting held in Brussels on July 15 with the participation of the leaders of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the President of the European Council, no agreement was reached regarding alternative ways of transporting NK cargo. The RA MFA informs about this.

"Furthermore, the Republic of Armenia has no authority and cannot discuss issues related to other ways of transporting goods to Nagorno-Karabakh.

The Republic of Armenia has repeatedly reaffirmed its principled position regarding the imperative to remove the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor, by the tripartite statement of November 9, 2020, and the legally binding decisions of the UN International Court of Justice of February 22 and July 6, 2023.

It is also noteworthy that the statements made by the President of the European Council after the meeting on July 15 and by the spokesman of the Council President on September 1 do not indicate such an "agreement." In accordance with its established way of working, the Azerbaijani side tries to manipulate various references to the topic and present them as an agreement. In their statements, international partners continuously and unreservedly emphasize the importance of lifting the blockade of the Lachin Corridor and that the reference to other roads cannot be seen as an alternative to Azerbaijan's obligation to lift the siege of the Lachin Corridor.

Once again, we firmly emphasize that on the agenda for RA is only the problem of removing the blockade of the Lachin Corridor, the road that ensures an uninterrupted connection between Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, and RA is not going to get involved in discussions about any other routes."
