On August 16, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan spoke with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira.
Ararat Mirzoyan presented to his colleague the violation of fundamental rights of 120 thousand people of Nagorno-Karabakh and especially vulnerable groups, as a result of Azerbaijan's illegal blocking of the Lachin Corridor and the harsh conditions created for them, including the acute shortage of food and medicine. He emphasized that with its actions, Azerbaijan violates not only the provisions of the tripartite declaration of November 9, 2020, and the norms of international humanitarian law but also the binding decisions of the highest UN legal body, the International Court of Justice, of February 22 and July 6. :
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the urgency of eliminating the hourly worsening humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh by restoring uninterrupted movement in both directions through the Lachin Corridor and expressed his belief that the UN Security Council can play a decisive role in the context of preventing a humanitarian disaster in Nagorno-Karabakh.
