Ararat Mirzoyan had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malta

On August 10, the RA Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ararat Mirzoyan, had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs, and Trade of the Republic of Malta, Ian Borg.

Minister Mirzoyan presented developments in the region to his colleagues since his official visit to Malta in March, particularly the worsening humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh due to Azerbaijan's illegal total blockade of the Lachin Corridor. Minister Mirzoyan emphasized its irreversible consequences for the 120,000 people of Nagorno-Karabakh, noting Azerbaijan's periodic interruptions of electricity and gas supplies and the acute shortage of medicine, food, and other essential goods for especially vulnerable groups.

Minister Mirzoyan noted that Azerbaijan continues working, contrary to all the international calls and efforts to make a positive change. By the decisions of the International Court of Justice on February 22 and July 6, the urgency of taking clear steps towards the immediate removal of the blockade of the Lachin Corridor and the complete restoration of movement was emphasized.

The telephone conversation also discussed cooperation issues between the EU and multilateral platforms.
