RA Deputy Foreign Minister received representatives of the staff of the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations

On August 9, RA Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan received US Senate Foreign Relations Committee Director of Staff Demian Murphy and Policy Director Sara Arkin, who are in the GRC at the request of Committee Chairman Robert Menenedes.

During the meeting, the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh, which is intensifying day by day as a result of the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan, was discussed. The need to immediately lift the blockade of Lachine Corridor was emphasized, in accordance with the decisions of the International Court of Justice of February 22 and July 6.

Paruyr Hovhannisyan emphasized the need for international partners to take clear steps to prevent ethnic cleansing by Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Reference was made to the steps taken by the Armenian side in order to establish security, stability and peace in the region.

The parties also discussed issues related to the continuous expansion, deepening and development of Armenian-American relations based on common values.
