On August 8, the Secretary of the Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Iran, Mehdi Sobhani.
A. Grigoryan congratulated the Ambassador on assuming the responsible mission and expressed hope that the Ambassador will contribute to further development and strengthening of relations between the two friendly countries during his activities.
The parties discussed several issues on the agenda of the Armenian-Iranian bilateral relations, referring to the regional security situation.
Within the framework of the above, the Secretary of the Security Council presented the humanitarian crisis created in Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of the blockade of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan for more than 7 months and the positions of the Republic of Armenia.
