The operation center of the EU observation mission in Armenia was opened in Kapan.

The head of the EU mission in Armenia, Markos Ritter, announced that according to the plan of their mission, to have 6 operational bases in Armenia. "We are almost close to implementing our plans," he said, adding that the main working permanent centers are in Martuni, Jermuk, and Goris.

The Syunik region Governor Robert Ghukasyan emphasized the importance of the center's opening. "It is connected with the events taking place in the border settlements. I express my thanks to the EV observation mission. The presence of the monitoring mission will have a great deterrent effect along the border and bring stability in Kapan. I have great hope that the observation mission will perform its mission as expected by the people who live here, and the results will not let us wait," he said.

It was announced earlier that the EU civil mission would open three additional field offices in Kapan, Ijevan, and Yeghegnadzor.
