The rights and security of the Armenian people of Nagorno-Karabakh should be urgently addressed within the framework of the international mechanism; Papikyan

During the session of the OSCE Permanent Council held on July 27, the Permanent Representative of Armenia to the OSCE, Ambassador Armen Papikyan, made a speech, drawing the attention of the heads of missions and representatives of the participating states to the rapidly worsening humanitarian crisis in Artsakh as a result of the illegal blocking of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijan for about eight months and on recent developments.

Ambassador Papikyan, in particular, emphasized that the complete blockade of Nagorno-Karabakh since June 15, including the interruption of humanitarian supplies through the International Committee of the Red Cross, has led to an acute shortage of food, medicine, fuel, and other essential goods, as a result of which Nagorno-Karabakh a catastrophic humanitarian situation has been created.

The head of the RA mission stressed the importance of the necessary steps taken by the OSCE and its executive structures regarding the widespread violations of the individual and collective fundamental rights of the 120,000 people of Artsakh, as well as the need for the international community to impose sanctions on Azerbaijan and its authorities in order to force them to fulfill the obligations set by the decisions of the International Court of Justice. .

The ambassador emphasized that the rights and security of the Armenian people of Nagorno-Karabakh should be urgently addressed within the framework of the international mechanism, with the provision of international involvement and clear guarantees.
