There is no change; we continue to wait for the responses of the Russian peacekeeping troops. During a briefing with journalists in Kornidzor, RA Ambassador with Special Assignments Edmon Marukyan said this, referring to the obstacles to transporting around 400 tons of food from RA to Nagorno Karabakh.
"Azerbaijan is besieging and starving around 120,000 people. There have been similar cases in the 21st century, but this is a violation of international humanitarian law, a massive violation of human rights. In this sense, there is no step we can say we didn't take without proving it and it is very obvious. You saw yesterday that all ambassadors accredited to the Foreign Ministry have examined and seen the cargo. Complete work is being done at the diplomatic level, also at the humanitarian level. In this sense, our steps are very predictable and are in line with our commitments made on November 9," said Marukyan.
When asked whether RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan informed the Russian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers about this initiative at the tripartite meeting held in Moscow, Marukyan answered that it was not that specific issue that was raised but the issue of the opening of the Lachin Corridor in general.
"At the meeting, the RA Foreign Minister raised the issues of reopening the Lachin Corridor, and lifting the blockade, under the commitment of November 9. "Our minister should not raise the issue of 360-400 tons of cargo but should raise the issue of opening the passage in general, which was naturally raised and discussed during the meeting," added Marukyan.
