The development of multi-level relations with France has always been highlighted in Armenia's foreign policy agenda. The unique Armenian-French relations are based on the two peoples' traditional friendship, the Armenian community's active role in France, and close bilateral political, cultural, and humanitarian ties. Vladimir Vardanyan, head of the Armenia-France Friendship Group of the RA National Assembly, said in his speech that he welcomed the delegation led by the mayor of Bourges-les-Valences, France, Marlene Mourier, at the meeting held at the RA National Assembly on July 24.
The meeting was attended by members of the Armenia-France friendship group Arusyak Manavazyan, Babken Tunyan, member of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Davit Arushanyan, deputy mayor of Bourg-le-Valence Robert Tafankechyan, and head of the Talin community Tavros Sapeyan.
On July 22, the delegation from Bourg-le-Valence took part in the celebrations dedicated to Tallinn Day. In his speech, Tavros Sapeyan noted that next year marks the 20th anniversary of the cooperation of the sister cities, in connection with which it was proposed to establish a park dedicated to Tallinn in Bourg-le-Valence, where the bust of the famous French-Armenian singer, Chansons Charles Aznavour, will be placed.
Mayor Marlene Mourier thanked them for the warm reception and expressed her readiness to develop cooperation between the two cities.
The meeting participants emphasized the partnership and friendly relations between the two cities, which are characterized by exceptional warmth.
The head of the friendly group presented the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh due to Azerbaijan's blocking of the Lachin Corridor.
Issues related to opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest were discussed.
