Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan participated in the solemn event organized at the French Embassy on the National Day of the Republic of France.
The Deputy Prime Minister made a speech and congratulated on behalf of the Government on the National Day of France, wishing the friendly France and the French well-being and the Armenian-French friendship longevity.
"On July 14, 1789, the French, united around the noble ideas of liberty, equality, and fraternity, outlined the path of fundamental freedoms and democracy for the modern world.
I want to emphasize that the historical ties between Armenia and France, based on universal values, were crucial for developing our privileged interstate relations.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries have managed to form a close high-level political dialogue and practical cooperation in all fields," said Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan.
In his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister also noted that having its place in the history of the Armenian people, France assumed a significant role, especially at the beginning of the 20th century, when thousands of Armenians who survived the genocide found shelter in the friendly land of France and got a chance for a dignified life.
"We highly appreciate the important role of our friend, President Emmanuel Macron, in regulating Armenia-Azerbaijan relations and addressing the rights and security of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh. I regret to inform you that despite our efforts to establish lasting stability and peace in the region, the situation is critical now," said Mher Grigoryan.
Summarizing his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister, taking the opportunity, also thanked the French Ambassador Anne Luoyot, who is finishing her diplomatic mission in Armenia, for her efforts in expanding and deepening Armenian-French relations and wished successful, assuring that she will always remain a friend of Armenians.
