On July 6, RA Deputy Foreign Minister Vahan Kostanyan received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Republic of Armenia, Nasser Muhammad Yusuf Al-Belushi (residence: Rome), on the occasion of handing over a copy of his credentials.

Deputy Minister Vahan Kostanyan, congratulating Ambassador Al-Belushi on assuming the mission, noted that the ties between Armenia and the Arab world have a centuries-old history. In that context, he believed the ambassador would further strengthen and deepen relations between Armenia and Bahrain.

It was noted on both sides that there is a significant unrealized potential for bilateral cooperation, in connection with which the parties expressed their readiness to make maximum efforts, in particular, in the direction of the development of trade and economic relations, the attraction of investments, existing cooperation in agriculture, infrastructure, tourism, healthcare, educational and cultural and other fields. The organization of mutual high-level visits and the expansion of the legal treaty field between the two countries were also highlighted.

At the meeting, Vahan Kostanyan also presented to the interlocutor the latest developments in Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and Nagorno-Karabakh, particularly the humanitarian crisis caused by the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor. In this context, the deputy minister emphasized the readiness of the Republic of Armenia to settle the existing problems through peaceful negotiations.
