Ararat Mirzoyan and the Iranian ambassador referred to efforts aimed at establishing peace in the South Caucasus

On July 4, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ararat Mirzoyan, received the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Abbas Badakhshan Zohuri, completing his diplomatic mission in Armenia.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Mirzoyan, noting that the term of office of Ambassador Zohuri coincided with a challenging period for Armenia, highly appreciated his efforts in deepening mutual understanding and relations between Armenia and Iran and wished him success in his future diplomatic work.

The interlocutors discussed various agenda issues of Armenian-Iranian cooperation, noting with mutual satisfaction the high level of political dialogue between the two countries. It was emphasized that the cooperation between the two countries stems from the imperative to face regional challenges and the historically formed friendly ties between the two peoples.

The willingness to maintain the positive dynamics of high-level mutual visits and periodic consultations between foreign political departments was reaffirmed. The steps aimed at implementing mutual interest economic programs and using the existing potential for promoting bilateral trade were highlighted.

Reference was made to the vision of the two countries to establish peace and stability in the South Caucasus and to their efforts in that direction.
