"Azerbaijan always rejects all efforts aimed at peace;" Alain Simonyan

On July 3, the delegation headed by RA NA Speaker Alen Simonyan, who is in Poland on an official visit, met the Kazimir Pulaski Security Research Center Foundation experts in Warsaw.

At the meeting, the Speaker of the RA National Assembly briefly referred to the agenda of the democratic reforms implemented in our country, stressing that the facts regarding the democratic achievements of Armenia in the reports of several prestigious international organizations are telling.

He reminded the audience that Armenia continues to face great difficulties, facing security threats. In this context, the Armenian delegates detailed the consequences of Azerbaijan's continued aggression towards Armenia, stressing that Azerbaijan grossly violates the principles of international law and threatens Armenia's territorial integrity. "Azerbaijan, grossly violating the provisions of the tripartite statement of November 9, 2020, has blocked the Lachin Corridor since December last year, which has led to a severe humanitarian crisis. 120,000 Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh live under complete siege," said the RA NA Speaker.

Answering the experts' questions about establishing lasting peace in the region, Alen Simonyan highly appreciated the efforts of Western partners (USA, EU, France, Germany) in establishing peace, stability, and security in the South Caucasus.

The Polish partners noted that the most challenging thing for conflicting countries is finding a solution that satisfies the parties. Still, leaving the situation without a solution is more complex which can lead to irreversible consequences.

The Speaker of the RA National Assembly assured that Armenia has no territorial demands from its neighbors and will continue to do its best for the security and peace of the region. It was also raised at the meeting that Azerbaijan constantly rejects all efforts aimed at peace and ignores the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights and the mandatory decision of the International Court of Justice, implementing an open policy of ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Concluding the meeting, the speaker of the RA NA assured that in our country, they believe that democracy, the rule of law, and human rights are guarantees of peaceful coexistence.

The Kazimir Pulaski Security Research Center-Foundation presents its analysis of international events to the bodies of the state administration system and the private sector, highlighting their development trends and proposed solutions. Since 2014, the Foundation has been organizing the annual Warsaw Security Conference, which has become a platform for discussing common transatlantic security challenges between governments, international institutions, think tanks, and political and defense experts.

The foundation's management proposed organizing international discussions on security issues between Armenia and other European countries.
