Political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and India

On July 3, political consultations were held in Yerevan between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of India.

Because of the consultations, RA Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mnatsakan Safaryan received the delegation headed by Sumit Seth, Head of the Foreign Policy Planning Department of India's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the political consultations, the parties discussed the priorities and priority issues of the foreign policies of Armenia and India, and the main functions of the policy development and planning departments operating within the foreign ministries of Armenia and India were discussed on both sides.

The parties emphasized the growing dynamics of bilateral friendly relations, discussed the importance of high-level Armenian-Indian contacts, activation of interdepartmental relations, and political dialogue agenda. The parties have expressed their willingness to make additional efforts to deepen the relations between the states.

Reference was made to a wide range of international and regional security issues, as well as the strengthening of bilateral economic, cultural, and educational ties, cooperation in international organizations, and promoting the establishment of communication channels between countries.

Deputy Minister Safaryan presented to the Indian side the recent aggressive actions carried out by Azerbaijan and, to this day, threaten stability and peace in the South Caucasus. The importance of quickly overcoming the humanitarian crisis created in Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor was emphasized.
