Grigor Minasyan discussed the ongoing reforms in the field of Justice with the Secretary General of the CE

Minister of Justice Grigor Minasyan met with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Marija Pejčinović Burić, in Strasbourg.
The Minister, emphasizing the cooperation with the Council of Ministers, noted that the protection of human rights, which are the pillars of the Council of Ministers, and the strengthening of democracy and the rule of law were declared by the Government as the cornerstones and absolute landmarks of the development of state policies and the development of democratic structures after the revolution.

The Minister expressed special thanks for the statements made by Mrs. Pejcinović regarding the cessation of hostilities in 2020-2022, the illegal detention of prisoners of war and detainees, the blockade of the Lachin Corridor, and the further deterioration of the regional situation.

Grigor Minasyan emphasized that the RA-CE 2019-2022 action plan was a vital tool in the large-scale reform agenda of the Government and essentially covered the entire spectrum of the reform agenda in the justice field.

At the same time, the minister was highlighted in the new RA-CE 2023-2026. implementation of continuous joint work with the action plan in such vital areas as further reforms of the judicial system, implementation of ECHR judgments, reforms of penal and probation systems, legal and institutional frameworks for protecting human rights and ensuring gender equality, etc.
