National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan assumes that the reason for the postponement of the Washington meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan is the visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Baku.
Is the reason for the postponement of the meeting not the contradictions between the parties? Simonyan said, "No, there cannot be contradictions because the process has not stopped; it continues, and not only at the level of one platform."
According to him, the meeting of the ministers will take place shortly. Speaking about the disagreements between the parties on unblocking, the Speaker of the National Assembly noted that they are technical, "There is a general perception. Are technical problems. We are talking about movement in a state. The main red line in Azerbaijan's position is that it does not move from its own country to a third country by going from Baku to Nakhijevan; it implies that we should think of a different, simplified option, how to go down to Meghri through the territory of Nakhijevan. Another question is how much we need that road and how much they need it. We are in favor of unblocking all roads."
