The RA NA Speaker Alen Simonyan's delegation met with Stephen Doughty, Member of the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Shadow Minister for European Affairs.
Addressing the minister, the Speaker of the RA National Assembly noted that his interest in the South Caucasus is welcome, adding that he is informed that he is keeping the situation and developments in the region at the center of attention.
The Speaker of the RA National Assembly also expressed his gratitude for the Minister's clear position on vital issues for Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh and his regular direct statements condemning Azerbaijan's actions in the UK Parliament, including the blocking of the Lachin Corridor.
At the meeting, the current situation of the South Caucasus was discussed, considering the existing security issues as key. The Speaker of the RA National Assembly gave details about the obstacles caused by the Lachin crisis. The point of the repatriation of our compatriots held hostage by Azerbaijan was raised.
