"We do not have the right and we do not pretend to determine the status of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh;" Minister of Foreign Affairs (VIDEO)

"We have not received a mandate from the Nagorno-Karabakh people to negotiate their future; accordingly, we have no right to determine their status. We do not present such an ambition, and we do not try to do such a thing," said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, during the discussion of the performance of the 2022 budget in the National Assembly.

He spoke about the process of normalization of relations with Azerbaijan, stressing that this normalization cannot be realistic, complete, long-lasting, and stable if a platform or dialogue mechanism is not created where the people of Nagorno-Karabakh and official Baku can dialogue, discuss, negotiate all critical issues. "We are not negotiating about status nor anything else," said Ararat Mirzoyan.

According to the minister, no one in the world denies that there are many open questions, "These issues should be discussed and addressed, not by us, but by NK's elected bodies and authorized institutions. We must ensure the beginning of that dialogue- the platform, the mechanism."
