"You have noticed correctly that the president of Azerbaijan has not publicly said that he recognizes the territorial integrity of Armenia, with an area of 29.8 thousand km2. But the meeting with the participation of the President of Azerbaijan was summed up by the statement of the President of the EU Council, Charles Michel, where it is stated that the countries recognize each other's territorial integrity with numbers, and after that, there was no public denial by Azerbaijan," said Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, in response to the question of Gegham Manukyan, member of the "Hayastan" faction
He said the same thing happened during the following meetings: "I hope that shortly, the highest authority of Azerbaijan will recognize the territorial integrity of Armenia with those very words."
According to Mirzoyan, Azerbaijan did not object to recognizing RA's territorial integrity; simply mentioning these numbers is a clarification mechanism, "There is a need for public confirmation because we are raising this issue. Otherwise, we continue to be concerned that Azerbaijan has or is trying to present territorial claims to Armenia with its policy. The aggression that took place in September 2022, the invasion of the territory of Armenia, the previous invasions, and, why not, the recent Tegh village incident was all about this. And here, it is to eliminate such things as quickly as possible; maybe it is not possible to do the work of distinction but to reach the parameters of differentiation, as much as possible, with wordings that are as clear as possible and leave little room for interpretation."
