The presentation of the Armenian Buenos Aires picture book at the RA MFA

On May 31, the presentation of the Armenian Buenos Aires picture book, published at the initiative of the Armenian Embassy in Argentina and with the support of the RA MFA, took place at the MFA.

The book presents the history of the Argentinian Armenian community and the Armenian heritage in the capital and province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, including squares and parks bearing Armenian names, Armenian churches, monuments commemorating the martyrs of the Armenian Genocide, khachkars, and monuments, educational institutions, cultural associations, etc. Photographer Davit Hakobyan took the photos in the book.

Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan, Armenian Ambassador to Argentina Hovhannes Virabyan, Argentine Ambassador to Yerevan Mariano Vergara, and photographer Davit Hakobyan made speeches at the event.

The critical role of the Argentinian Armenian community, which has a hundred-year history, was noted in the events, both in the public life of Argentina and in the development of Armenian-Argentine interstate relations. At the same time, the circumstance of the rich Armenian cultural heritage in Argentina, particularly in the capital city of Buenos Aires, as well as the caring attitude of the Argentine authorities towards the Armenian community and the Armenian multifaceted presence, was emphasized.
