"Azerbaijan assures that it recognizes the full sovereignty of Armenia without any option," Putin

Azerbaijan assures that it recognizes the full sovereignty of Armenia without any option, and the second and third comments regarding the possible unblocking of transport connections have no basis. Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this at the meeting with RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

"I'd like to know our position regarding our tripartite statement on Lachin Corridor. We have never changed our position on this matter. And you know that in our discussions with our Armenian friends and Azerbaijan, we have always been loyal to that position and are still dedicated to that position. Everything must correspond to the spirit and letter of our tripartite declaration. Our work here has stayed the same.

Our position regarding unblocking transport routes, communications, railways, and possible roads is also unchanged. And now, during the bilateral contact with the Azerbaijani delegation, we discussed this.

But it must be said that the Azerbaijani side also confirms no change in this matter. Azerbaijan reaffirms that it recognizes the full sovereignty of Armenia without any option, and the second and third comments regarding the possible unblocking of transport connections have no basis.

Still, there are questions you just mentioned; they are related to terminology. I think we can talk about this in more detail," the Russian president said.
