Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan touched on the topic of enclaves. To the question: when recognizing the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan with an area of 86.6 thousand km2, are the enclaves also included in it, he said. "86.6 thousand km2 is separate, but it is included in the package with 29.8 thousand km2. 29.8 thousand km2 includes Artsvashen and 86.6 thousand km2 also includes enclaves.
According to the Prime Minister, it is a political position, the legal part of the issue still needs to be considered. "There are several options related to the topic of enclaves. If such an agreement is reached, one of them could be that the enclave areas on both sides of the line remain under the control of the side in which they are located, with the so-called symmetry or identification of the areas, that is, the adjustment of square kilometers. Let's suppose to measure: how much is the territory of Artsvashen, how much is the territory of others and, according to that, to make it so that everything is based on the principle of equality.
The other option is that after the signing of the peace treaty, Artsvashen will, accordingly, return to Armenia, and those other territories that will be established de jure will return... This subtlety should always be taken into account, because these legal parts have not been studied to the end."
When asked whether 29,800 km2 includes Tigranashen and six villages of Tavush, the Prime Minister said. "No!"
