"There is an idea to establish a demilitarized zone along the border after signing the agreement," Prime Minister (VIDEO)
RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan answered Radar Armenia's question:
Question. - How many times have you announced that you propose that Azerbaijan and Armenia withdraw their troops in a mirror image? It is a fact that Azerbaijan invaded the sovereign territory of Armenia and occupied a part of it. Now, when we talk about mirror withdrawal, doesn't it mean that a buffer zone will be created on the territory of Armenia? What will Armenia get from this when the Azerbaijani troops will continue to stay in our environment?
The Prime Minister explained what the mirror withdrawal of troops means. At the same time, he said: "If a buffer zone is to be created in Armenia, it should be created in Azerbaijan as well. At the same time, Azerbaijan does not agree to the proposal to withdraw the troops in a mirror manner. There is an idea to establish a demilitarized zone along the border after the peace treaty is approved, which is debatable."
