RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan explained why he did not present the Nagorno-Karabakh negotiation process details in 2018. According to him, it would be an international scandal and the end of negotiations, "It would mean that the full content of the negotiations has been revealed, and by that fact, it would be a trigger for war."
At the same time, the Prime Minister noted that there is a social-psychological and moral aspect of the issue, "As of 2018, it was not possible to have a fully predictable course if Armenia did not give up the vision of seeing Nagorno-Karabakh outside Azerbaijan. What would we have to do to make things follow a predictable logic? Let's say; for example, with the logic of excluding war, we should have abandoned that vision. We and I could not do it, because it would at least mean to record the futility of the sacrifices the people of Armenia suffered for several decades. Maybe it was the duty of a statesman to come and say that. But the statesman should have an inner conviction that this is right," Pashinyan said.
