RA Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan announced that the meeting of the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Moscow is scheduled for May 19.
"The meeting is scheduled for May 19 if there are no changes," he said in a briefing with journalists.
Before the meeting in Moscow, a meeting at the level of heads of state is scheduled for May 14 in Brussels.
When asked whether the meeting in Moscow will be its logical continuation, the deputy minister said, "There will be a logical continuation somewhere, but every format has its characteristics."
As for the five-party meeting to be held in Chisinau, in which Azerbaijan still needs to confirm its participation, Hovhannisyan said, "We have several different formats. It is about moving the process forward. There was no talk of creating any new format."
He stressed that the participation of Germany and France in the five-way meeting could make a positive contribution, "If the EU supports this process, the participation of the two most influential EU countries can only have a positive effect."
He spoke about Azerbaijan's reservations regarding France's participation, "There is a perception that France is not impartial, but as the co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group for 30 years, France has not taken any steps to question its role as an impartial instrument. The rest is just from the field of manipulation."
