The members of the RA NA Armenia-US friendship group in Washington on a working visit: group leader, head of the "Civil Pact" faction Hayk Konjoryan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Sargis Khandanyan, MPs of the "Civil Contract" faction Vahagn Aleksanyan, Hripsime Grigoryan, deputy of the "Hayastan" faction Irina Gasparyan, as well as RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the USA Lilit Makunts participated in the panel discussion organized jointly with the International Republican Institute at the think tank of the Atlantic Council, which was also attended by John Herbst, Director General of the Eurasian Center of the Atlantic Council, Daniel Twining, President of the International Republican Institute, Eurasia regional program director Stepan Nix, as well as other representatives of the International Republican Institute.
The delegation met at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace with the head and senior specialist of the Russia and Eurasia program, Eugene Roemer, and the senior specialist of the same program, Paul Stronsky. The members of the RA delegation presented the current security situation around Armenia. They drew attention to Azerbaijan's illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor and the regularly repeated provocative actions. The ongoing peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan and regional challenges were discussed.
